Every Band Day Honor Band member will experience what it’s like to be a Cavalier Marching Band member on a gameday! This special event is open to high school students grades 9-12. If you are interested in attending UVA’s Band Day, we’ll publish a Band Day Interest Form on this website in early September 2025. After we gather contact information through the interest form, we will email the actual electronic registration form to interested parties.
QUALTRICS REGISTRATION IS NOW CLOSED. Please note that we will not be offering day-of Qualtrics registration this year.

All Band Day parents are strongly encouraged to attend this information meeting. Dr. Tackitt will cover the day's schedule, the check-in process, transportation plans for students to/from the stadium as well as a shuttle system for families after the game, and the checkout process at the Hunter Smith Band Building. Please note that students will be shuttled to the Aquatic Fitness Center after rehearsal this year (not Slaughter Recreation Center).
ABOUT BAND DAY
Band Day includes check-in at Carr’s Hill Field, a rehearsal with the CMB, a meal with your section courtesy of the band, transportation to/from Scott Stadium, a ticket to the game, the halftime show performance on the field, and performing with the CMB in the stands. Music and marching drill will be provided electronically approximately 3 weeks prior to UVA Band Day (check the Band Day Event Guide for more information).
The cost is $60.00 which is payable by check to "CAVALIER MARCHING BAND." Checks mailed in advance are preferred and can be made out to "CAVALIER MARCHING BAND." We are also able to accept cash or check at Band Day check-in. Unfortunately, we are unable to accept card or electronic payments.

*Please note that we are NOT able to issue a refund once payment and registration has been received. Registration information is used to order meals, t-shirts, and other resources to prepare for Band Day. If Band Day is completely cancelled, all payments will be reimbursed.

What is included as part of UVA Band Day?
Entry to the game, a UVA Band Day T-shirt, rehearse and perform with the CMB on Scott Stadium field at halftime and in the stands throughout the game, bus transportation to and from the stadium, a pre-game meal with the CMB, and food in the stands during the game.

What do I need to be prepared for on Game Day?
Access your music, drill, and choreography by opening our Band Day Google Folder. Colorguard choreography will be added to our Band Day Colorguard Choreography YouTube playlist, and Twirler choreography will be found on our CMB YouTube channel. You will bring your own band instrument, your own printed copies of your music, and your drill coordinate card.

How do I purchase tickets to the game for my family & friends?
UVA Athletics has provided a Band Day Friends and Family site. Click here and look over the options. Remember, Band Day performers don't need to purchase tickets through this portal.
